Dedicate Daf 17b to:

Diftera -
not fully processed parchment.

Rather, one may only write the Sotah's scroll
on a scroll
(made from parchment)
.

As the verse
says "In a sefer ".

And one may not write
the scroll with
resin, Kankantum
(Vitriol)
, or any other
permanent ink

But only with
erasable
ink.

As
the verse says
"And he shall erase it",

Which teaches that the ink must be
erasable.

Gemara
Gemara

The Gemara will discuss seven laws:

אמר רבא מגילת סוטה שכתבה בלילה פסולה
1.
Rava said
that
a Sotah's scroll which was written at night is invalid.

מ"ט
Why?

This law is
derived
from the Gezeira Shava
of
the words
"Torah"
and
"Torah"

It's written
in one verse
"and the Kohen shall do upon her all this law."

And
another verse says
"According to the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment".

Based on this Gezeira Shava , the Gemara derives that
just as judgment must be during the day, so too the Sotah's scroll must be
written
during the day.

2.
If
the scroll
was written out of order, it's invalid,

For
the verse says
"And the
Kohen
shall write these curses."
This teaches that the scroll must be written in the order which the curses
were written.

3.
If one wrote
the scroll
before the
Sotah
accepted the oaths,
the scroll
is invalid,

As
the verse says
"And
the Kohen
shall cause her to swear",
and only then the verse says
"And
the Kohen
shall write
these curses in a scroll
".

4.
If
the Sotah's scroll was
written like an
(unlined)
letter, it's invalid,

As the Torah says
it must be a " Sefer "
- book
.

And all Torah "Books" must be lined.
